January 2004
Well, Mum & Dad are off to Hawaii for 3 weeks for their annual
jaunt. Wish I was there with them - it's -35c in Calgary right now
Before they left, they told me the lower level of the house was already
framed. I called Jason today (Jan 27) and he told me the rest
of the house is framed but the roof / trusses are not on yet. Kelowna
just got a big dump of snow, so it might delay things a bit.
December 2003
My second trip home shows dramatic progress on the new house. The foundation
is complete and the new wharf is complete already!

Upon inspection, bumpa's boathouse (and the boat surprisingly enough)
survived the fire without a scratch. In fact everything that bumpa welded
survived the fire - the railings on the staircase down from the road,
the boathouse, the steps for the dock down into the lake, and the other
loop-ladder.

160-degree view from the end of the new dock!

The view from where the new staircase down to the dock will be. Notice
the lack of a certain teahouse-of-the-August-moon.

360-degree panorama standing at the front of the new foundation. There
is no more "front lawn" as the house had to be moved towards
the lake.

360-degree panorama standing in the new garage (yes, they're gonna have
a drive-in attached garage!)

View of the lot from the entry of the new driveway

September 2003
Shortly after my childhood home at 5538 Lakeshore Road burned in the
2003 Okanagan Park Forest Fires, my parents started rebuilding.
I was lucky enough to see the lot transformed from a burned out carcass
of a house to a bare-naked lot, ready to receive a new house.
