"The GlassMaster" (my nickname for him)

Jon Love invited to a showing of Jonathan Mossop's glass art works in 2003. Jon knew that I had an interest in Northwest Coast Native art, and in glass art as well, and he thought that I'd really enjoy seeing some of Jonathan Mossop's work.

And Jon was right.

Not only is Jonathan an amazing glass artist, but he also has a background in Northwest Coast Native art, from 2-dimensional graphics to full-on sculpture & carving (full-size totem poles, Kwagiulth cannibal bird masks, etc.).

I wonder if the crows in his latest "Crow series" of pieces may have some origin in his Northwest Coast art background (ravens). However you may interpret it, Jonathan's work is beautiful.

Jonathan's resume & artist bio can be found at Vetri Glass's website.

Jonathan also has pieces available at:

Thomas R. Riley Galleries
New Small & Sterling Studio Glass
(there be other places as well, but I haven't found any others on the web).

Here are some images of Jonathan's work that I've managed to scrounge from the web.
